Viracon insulating glass consists of two or more plies of glass enclosed with a hermetically sealed spacer. Triple insulating glass units are constructed with three plies of glass separated by two hermetically sealed spacers.
Insulating glass is designed to enhance solar and thermal performance using Low-E coatings protected by hermetically sealed spaces filled with Argon. The design provides a barrier to water and moisture infiltration and reduces condensation. Triple insulating glass further reduces the U-Value by offering the opportunity to place Low-E coatings on both the #2 and #4 surfaces.
